it's cold.

so, so, so, so, so cold.
fourteen degrees might be the norm elsewhere, but seriously, the australian wind bites like no other place does. my hands and feet are just blocks of ice, which is a great contrast to italy and fiji and the other gorgeous places they're showcasing on getaway (my dad's watching it at the moment, as if the sun on tv will miraculously melt us too.)

it's my sister's graduation tomorrow! how exciting. my mum doesn't actually understand the need for me to sacrifice study to see my sister throw a black hat into the air and listen to a few speeches since she's studying an extra three years at university anyway, to get her masters/doctorate in psychology. this is ridiculous reasoning on her part, since my sister comes along for the smallest things at my school - watch my orchestra perform, get a maths award, you know.

the only reason mum agreed was because of the anniversary of the sydney harbour, there are festivals going on at the moment - lighting on the opera house, etc. which also means a lot of the buffets are half price. so we're swinging over to one of the best places in the city after my sister's graduation, and asians are all for good discounts.

okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the buffet certainly did soften mum up.

we're studying adaptations of romeo and juliet in class at the moment, so hello west side story. some of the girls in my class hate it - the hand clicking, the 50s backdrop, even the clothes. the exchange girls we have over from france and vietnam are watching it with quite a lot of amusement. but i love all my musicals, so it's good stuff. although i still can't get over the fact they pronounce their love for each other after like, five minutes of meeting in the play. and in west side story, it's after a few seconds of dancing and a song on the balcony.

love at first sight is ridiculous! i mean, you might FEEL something, but you don't even know anything about them at that point! what if he's a psychopathic killer for goodness' sake!

not that you know, i'm a reliable source on love. xD

oh, look

i somehow ended up with a lj account.
i knew this was a bad idea.

although the bad feelings might be because of the lack of light in my room (I NEED MY PHOTOSYNTHESIS) and because i'm supposed to be meeting up with my friends in three hours but i'd rather be a hermit today, my toes are about to drop off from the cold but i can't be bothered to wear another million layers of clothes and put some socks on, i can't find my disney classics cd and i really want to listen to gaston (from beauty and the beast if you're clueless) being an idiot, i'm hungry (when am i not) and i'm all deppressed because of the fictionpress plagiarising going on (... oh no i've thought about it again. every time i do it just makes me cry. especially because every day i open my email and find that ANOTHER author has been plagiarised and taking her stories off. those plagiarisers should all just burn in the depths of hell kthnxbai.)

at least my computer's warm. =)
wait, that's bad. it means that i've been on it for too long.

i have nothing else to do on the net, can you believe. i have gone crazy with all the house + ncis speculations on the forums, i should stop watching old episodes of bones on dodgy net websites, none of my friends are on msn because the ones that go to my school are all out doing who knows what, and the rest of them are at school (haha, perks of being a private school kid), and i've read all the blogs in existance, been on FML, flicked through all the ridiculously old xkcd ones, watched more of communitychannel, mugglenet, even neopets for goodness sake (i blame that on lindy). there is nothing to do. not even fictionpress, because it just makes me sad now. wait, there is something left to be done ... my huge pile of homework! -_-''

i'd rather ramble on here than start my studies of religion assessment though. or my essay for history. or research for elective history that's like 60% of my mark. or write my speech for round 2 of the speech competition. or find a prose piece for another speech competition that's on in six days (i had to count my fingers to see how many days i had left, i'm so silly.) or my science project.

the weather at the moment is so upredictable. people from overseas are always like, what are the seasons like, and nobody ever has an answer because ... you never know what it'll be like. we get all four seasons in the space of like, an hour. it'll be ridiculously hot, and you'll be peeling all your layers off, until you realise there's a thunderstorm and then it's raining so heavily and it's COLD and then the weather turns okay again and there's a rainbow in the sky. :)

it;s just cold and dreary at the moment though. hmm, it's perfect to just crawl into bed and read the eight books i borrowed from the library for the long weekend (yay for being in the commonwealth and thus celebrating the queen's birthday.) maybe i'll read the non fiction one on victorian england ... or les mis? wuthering heights? the shadow queen by anne bishop? or should i just read anne of the island again, that i stole off jenny?

oh, the choices in life.
